You run a NAS, Proxmox box, Pi cluster, or a rack in the closet and poke at it from your phone.
Closed beta
Android & iOS SSH users wanted
Mobile SSH is a focused SSH, SFTP, and terminal client for Android and iOS. We're running a closed test on Google Play and TestFlight and looking for people who actually SSH from a phone or tablet to put it through real use — and tell us what to fix.
On Android, opt in with the Google account you'll test with. On iOS, install Apple's TestFlight app, then open the invite.
Who this is for
If you keep a terminal one tap away on your phone, you're exactly who we want.
Jellyfin, Nextcloud, *arr stack, containers — and the inevitable 11pm "why is it down" SSH session.
You get paged, open a shell on the move, and need tmux and reconnect to just work.
You already live in a terminal on Android and want a focused SSH/SFTP client beside it.
A Pi on the LAN or a $5 droplet you administer from a phone or tablet.
You ship from anywhere and sometimes that means deploying from a train.
How to join — four steps
About 15 minutes to set up, then occasional real use over two weeks.
- 1
Opt in to the beta
On Android, open this page on your device and tap the Google Play button to join the closed test. On iPhone or iPad, tap the TestFlight button and accept the invite in Apple's TestFlight app. You only need to do this once.
- 2
Install Mobile SSH
After opting in, Mobile SSH installs from Google Play (Android) or TestFlight (iOS) like any other app — you'll get beta updates automatically.
- 3
Use it for real — for about two weeks
Connect to your own servers and run the checklist below. The closed test needs testers opted in for 14 continuous days, so please keep it installed for the run.
- 4
Send one piece of feedback
Fill in the short feedback form — even "everything worked" is useful. You can also leave a private review in the Play beta listing, or send feedback straight from the TestFlight app on iOS.
Tester checklist
Try a few of these on your own servers — it's the fastest way to surface real bugs.
- Connect to one of your servers with a password or a private key
- Save it as a host, then reconnect to it with one tap
- Open two sessions side by side in the multi-session grid
- Transfer a file both ways over SFTP
- Set up a local port forward on a saved server
- Lock your screen mid-session, come back, and confirm it reconnects
- Submit the feedback form once you've tried a few of these
In your feedback, it helps to mention: what you tested, anything that broke or felt clunky, what's missing for your workflow, and your device model and Android or iOS version.
Why bother testing
Every feature is in the one app. No Pro paywall, no ad banners on the terminal.
Saved servers, credentials, and keys are local. No cloud account, nothing to leak.
This is a small project. Feedback during the beta goes straight into the next releases.
Ready to test?
Opt in on Google Play or TestFlight, use it for real over the next couple of weeks, and send us a note.
The Android closed test runs on Google Play and needs testers opted in for 14 continuous days; the iOS beta runs on TestFlight. You can leave either test anytime. Questions? Email mobile.ssh.info@gmail.com.
